Wrenford Thaffe, LLM |
I founded Scope Research and Consulting in 2016 to offer search and recruiting products and services to the Recruiting industry. During this time, I grew passionate about expanding my expertise to academia to help motivated and high achieving college students succeed. I achieve this by offering personalized mentoring combined with productivity tools and techniques. I am currently a PhD candidate in Business Administration at University of Ottawa, Canada. I received a Masters degree in Intellectual Property Law at University of West Indies, Jamaica and a Bachelor degree in Chemistry and Art from Amherst College, United States. I hold a teaching certificate from University of Ottawa combined with extensive experience working with both young and adult learners. I have taught undergraduate classes at University of Ottawa in Business and Marketing. I have also mentored University of Ottawa graduate students in Technical Writing, Statistics Analysis, and Productivity techniques. In addition, I tutored high school students at Paraclete Academy, Boston in Numeracy, Literacy, and Art. I was also a Science presenter at Museum of Science and MIT Museum, Boston where I delivered talks on Lightning, Reptiles, and Kinetic Art. I am passionate about teaching and mentoring all types of learners. My teaching philosophy aligns with the constructivism theory, which emphasizes teaching as a collaborative, learner-centered process of discovery. I apply this philosophy to the way I design and conduct my sessions with a focus on three core pillars: (1) clear learning objectives; (2) critical thinking; (3) collaborative learning. Overall, my students appreciate my patient, structured, and goal-oriented approach. Besides teaching, I conduct research at the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation, and atypical employment. In my spare time, I enjoy running, fishing, hiking, coding, and producing or viewing art. |
